The beach promenade is 3,300 metres long and is linked to a public green space up to 180 metres deep that is
intensively used by the local population. T he goal of the design is to give this promenade a rhythm and to enhance
it by public facilities that offer both instruction and entertainment. T he aim is to add “highlights” to the existing
qualities, public magnets that might attract a qualified commercial infrastructure and further leisure facilities.
All the proposals address the location on the water, on the shores of the Caspian S ea. T he high-point: a peninsula
extending 200 metres into the sea. I t contains initially an information centre, restaurant facilities, shops and
a jetty for a water bus. A bove all an opportunity is offered to reflect on the history and culture, nature and society,
economy and ecology of the region – A zerbaijan is an oil-producing country. I n the aquarium you can look at the
fish of the Caspian sea, in front is a gallery route that documents species already extinct. T here are two towers,
one contains the resources museum, while in the other the first seaplane in the world, which started from here,
is exhibited. Viewing terraces, restaurants, and a floating pool that forms a bridge to the Caspian S ea round off
the amenities.
